2025年「第27屆臺灣東南亞區域研究年度研討會」即將於10月23日及10月24日（星期四、星期五）在東海大學登場，現正徵稿中。2025年，適逢台灣東南亞學會創會二十週年。作為臺灣第一個以推廣東南亞區域研究為宗旨的學術社群，該學會自2005年由蕭新煌教授創立以來，二十年間持續促進東南亞研究社群的成長與拓展，為臺灣建立一個連結不同世代與領域的跨學科網絡，並積極與國際區域研究社群接軌，促進台灣學術外交。此次年會，既是對學會歷史的回顧與致敬，也是一場前瞻東南亞區域變局與理論創新的集體對話。
2025年年會由東海大學政治學系擔任地主承辦，亦具特殊象徵意義。東海大學政治系創立於1955年，是臺灣歷史最悠久的政治學高等教育機構之一，長期以來不僅在政治學專業知識上迭有創發，更與東南亞地區有著深厚連結。該系創系大老，也是東海大學第二任校長吳德耀博士於1970年代前往南洋，擔任新加坡大學政治系主任與南洋大學校長，深耕東南亞學術界。此外，東海政治系歷年培育眾多來自東南亞地區的學生，亦有多位台籍系友畢業後於東南亞各國開展事業，為臺灣與東南亞互動作出卓越貢獻。
本研討會自1999年由中央研究院東南亞區域研究計畫創始，歷經27屆發展，已成為臺灣最具代表性之東南亞學術年度會議。自2016年以來，年會更積極邁向國際化，促進我國與區域鄰國之學術對話與實質交流。2025年大會，除紀念東南亞學會創會二十年與研討會歷史傳承外，將聚焦美國川普總統重返白宮後所引發的全球格局變動，對於印太戰略轉向、地緣對抗與區域動態所可能帶來的衝擊，特以「十字路口的東南亞：全球變局與展望」為主題，廣邀各界參與探討。
